You get the presents!

Tomorrow is my birthday. But I wanted to share presents with you!

If you go to my Ravelry page (you don’t have to be signed in or a member to see that page), you can purchase any of my designs and get 10% off with using coupon code MYBDAY.

This promotion goes on now until Monday, November 7th, so take advantage of it if you wanted any of my independent designs. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! There will be a more insightful post on Monday about what this next year in my life.

Chat with me!

After months of debating whether or not I wanted to do it, I finally jumped right in. I now have a group on Ravelry dedicated to Fibers By Tracie.

I would love it if you would join the group and come chat with me. I figured it’s a much easier way to be able to communicate back and forth with you all, my supporters. I still have trouble using the word “fan” because, well, I’m not sure why. I’m still getting used to being “known” as a designer.

Anyway, if you’re on Ravelry, go look for the “Fibers By Tracie” group. If you’re not on Ravelry, go join! It’s free, it’s easy, and is great place to get organized and research new patterns and yarns.

Big announcement coming tomorrow next week now (sorry). Not sure what time yet, but it’s coming. As soon as I get the go ahead, I’ll post!

Something I can show you

I waited to blog about this to see if it held up first.

Before John left last week I made him a little something to identify his luggage on the belt. So, I grabbed some small amounts of leftover cotton and made this:

The pattern is the Slippah Luggage Tag and was very quick to make. Here’s the Ravelry link (you must already be signed up for Ravelry and if you aren’t, you should be).

It held up through 4 flights last week and 2 flights yesterday. Now, John did tell me that part of the plastic around the handle is cracked, but the little flip flops have held. ๐Ÿ™‚

I may make him something a bit bigger because he said depending on how the bag landed on the belt, it was a bit difficult to see.

Other than that, I’m working on SSP#4 and enjoying some WONDERFUL weather! The house has been opened up all day and a nice breeze has moved through. I’m back to work for a bit and then will make dinner.

Happy International Crochet Day and a HUGE announcement

First off….

Happy International Crochet Day!!!!

If you can, get out, crochet in public, and spread the love.

In honor of International Crochet Day, I’m announcing that the Crochet Liberation Front’s First Ever Crochet Book is now available!!!!!

Here’s a picture of the full cover of the book, which gives you a glimpse into some of the patterns in this book:

This book is 194 pages of full color patterns and articles. You will find 36 patterns and 13 useful and touching articles. There is not a “how to crochet” section in this book. It was written by crocheters for crocheters who have been itching for something more.

Laurie Wheeler, our illustrious, fearless leader, has a sneak peek here in the official blog. Do go check it out and you’ll see some fabulous designs….including mine.

I have two designs in this book and two articles. You’ll find the Broomstick Lace Wrap and the Ave Maria Tree Skirt as well as an article on swatching and a touching article about how I met John and got him crocheting. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So, are you excited? Do you want a copy? Well, then, you can go to this site to order and your very own book will be printed for you. It’s good for the environment as it’s print on demand. ๐Ÿ™‚ The price is $34.99. But…keep in mind, that’s less than $1 per pattern plus articles! Guys, I’ve seen the table of contents. I can’t wait to get my copy!

If you are on Ravelry, and you go to the Crochet Liberation Front group, you can probably find a discount code. ๐Ÿ™‚ That’s the rumor. ๐Ÿ˜‰

And if you’re local, yes, I’ll sign your copy if you want.

Happy International Crochet Day! I’ll be spending my day working on designs. Have a good day!

Yay, shirt!

So I had some money in my PayPal account thanks to selling some yarn. So when the Ravelry store opened up, I bought a shirt (gotta help support the addiction that is Ravelry).

It came today!

The reason the “TracieCrochets” is on there is because I’m now using this as my avatar on Ravelry. ๐Ÿ™‚

Okay, time to get back to work!

New Pattern Available!

Felted Coasters and Box pattern is now available!

If you click on the “buy now” button you will be redirected to PayPal to order the pattern through Ravelry. $3.00 will get you a great pattern for a set of coasters and a box to store them in. The whole pattern takes about 2 skeins (a little less depending on your gauge) of Patons Classic Merino Wool. Makes a great gift for housewarmings or weddings. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve got one more pattern to put together (pics and all that) and it’ll be up later. I need to go take care of a couple of other things first, so I may release it tomorrow. ๐Ÿ™‚

Beatrice Hat available

I’m going to test that Ravelry button first. ๐Ÿ™‚ Later I’ll link the Lulu download if necessary. It is available through Lulu. If you download the hat through Ravelry and have an issue PLEASE let me know immediately! It’s still in beta testing there and I need to see if it’s working for non-Ravelry people.

Lattice Mesh Scarf available

Lattice Mesh Scarf is available as a free download through Ravelry! See the sidebar for the button!

This is a great pattern for using up those skeins of bulky weight yarn you got that leave you frustrated. Can’t see the stitches with that yarn? Not necessary for this pattern. This pattern uses front and back post stitches, giving a warm thermal feeling to this scarf.

They like me, they really like me….

Side lesson for the day, first……..do not tempt the crochet gods. I will be ripping back about 6 rows on the sweater because I had a sleeping greyhound and couldn’t try it on him to see that I needed to start the decreases about 6 rows ago. Oh well.

Anyway, on to the topic of this post. I just checked the stats on my Ravelry download page. Today there have been 15 downloads of my Easy Ribbed Scarf. 15!!!! Just today!

So what happened? The nice lady who made the scarf from my pattern (the first one on Ravelry to do it!) posted about it over in Crochetville. And I guess that worked to get some views of it. ๐Ÿ™‚ That makes me incredibly happy.

I have yet to see any of the projects show up on Ravelry (other than the two that this person made), but I chalk it up to not everyone’s on yet. So….if you’re not on Ravelry and you’ve made any of my patterns, please do comment or send me an email with the picture. I love seeing how people have interpreted my designs.

Okay, I’m off. Working on the Project Linus blanket while my brain percolates on the decrease issue for the sweater. I want to figure out an easy way to do that without affecting all the math I did the other day.

Trying not to jinx it

The design for Midnight’s sweater is going well. I’m actually a little scared that something else will go wrong, but so far I think it’s going well. I may actually finish the crocheting by this weekend and then I can get the pattern cleaned up and all that and have it up for sale by Monday.

I’m still waiting to hear on one pattern that was submitted. In March I should hear confirmation about another design (I’ve got a soft acceptance on it).

I have some more ideas brewing. I need to decide what I’m going to do for the CLF book submission. I really want to do something cool and somewhat advanced. Gotta think on that one a bit more.

I’m scattered today. Still have the migraine hanging on which stinks.

Oh, and good thoughts to John who’s doing his interview today for the supervisor position (which he’s already the interim until they fill it officially AND no one else has applied). ๐Ÿ˜‰ He left today wearing a shirt and tie. He looks good in a shirt and tie. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh, and he’s now on Ravelry!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I gotta help him get his photos uploaded to a flickr account this weekend so he can get his notebook and profile set up. Hee!

Okay, back to work.
