Stitch Stirrer post – Thankfulness

This week’s Stitch Stirrer Post is on Thankfulness:

What are ten things you are most grateful for? They can all be crochet-related, but we all know thereโ€™s more to life than hook & yarn. Hmm, or is there?

So here we go:

1. John. I am so grateful to have a man in my life who supports me in all I do. I now know what love really is and I don’t ever want to let it go. I love how we think along the same lines and how creative he is. ๐Ÿ™‚

2. Friends. I have some really great friends in this world. And today I got a reminder of that in an email from a friend who rarely gets serious. And it was just a simple statement: “Sure do miss you around here.” ๐Ÿ™‚

3. Family. While I have my own issues with my family (don’t we all?) they have been very supportive of me through all my big and little life mistakes.

4. Yarn. You knew it was coming. Really, this is the first medium I’m able to express my creativity in and do it well. That’s cool to me.

5. My job. Come on, while I don’t make a lot doing it, to be able to say that I’m a crochet teacher and designer is pretty damn cool.

6. Ravelry. I’ve learned so much from there and met so many great people. It still blows my mind that it’s 2 people making this happen for free.

7. My health. Seems weird to say it today considering I’m not having a good day with the fibromyalgia, but it could be worse. I am able to manage and maintain a decent level of functionality and while this is something I’ll die with, it’s not going to kill me.

8. That there are not Grammar Police. If y’all have read this blog for any amount of time, you know that’s a big deal. ๐Ÿ™‚

9. CGOA. Without this fine organization I wouldn’t have my mentor and I wouldn’t even be getting published next year. The Crochet Guild has taught me so much through the members and the boards. To me it brings legitimacy to my craft and my job.

10. The cats. While they drive me nuts most of the time, I like having them keeping me company during the day. They’re free entertainment and thankfully are snuggly cats so it’s nice to have them around.
